To each their own, and if Vista is working for you, great. I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone, nor run it myself...but that's personal preference, and some sour grapes from working some pretty aggravated supervisor calls on Vista issues.
I was a little skeptical when I started beta testing Win7, but it won me over pretty quickly.
Seems Windows has been following a track similar to earlier Star Trek movies; every other one is decent
Win 95 (paradigm shift, didn't fully hit its stride 'til the 'B' version)
Win 98 (decent, even better once it hit SE)
Win ME (bloody nightmare... No, I'm not counting 2000, because the "focus" of 2k was more in the business sector)
Win XP (decent, best after SR 2)
Win Vista (tech update, that broke much functionality users had w/ XP)
Win 7 (decent release)
Win 8 (the new UI design philosophy makes my teeth itch...
