Some SpecOps get whatever weapons they want when they want. If he gets embedded with a certain special forces unit he'll get to have whatever Glock he wants.
Last I checked, which was last month, the Army was still entertaining bids to replace the M9. There are currently 5 companies bidding. Sig Sauer was the last to jump into the bidding. Rumor has it the Army is also considering going back to .45 acp.
