I deprimed my first 100 .223 cases today. All the rifle loads I have made in the past have been from my own bolt actions and I usually removed them carefully so they stayed in good shape, but a fair number of these .223 cases have dents in the body. Should I scrap them or won't it make any difference?
I would think that a full length sizer die would remove most of those marks. I wouldn't hesitate to load them and run them through my AR. :hint: :hint:

the die most likely wont remove those dents. to help prevent them
in the future put a small piece of black felt on the deflector.
when u load them and fire them again the dent will be gone.

The solutions involved many innovative ideas, from using the metal ammo clips bent to form a deflector, to using cardboard from the ammo boxes to form a deflector. The cardboard solution would prevent the dents pictured above.
