.223 / 5.56 ammo?

Postby Jpeterson66 » Tue 11 Feb 2014 7:24 pm

Hello everyone! I just bought my first AR recently and I am loving it, and am already addicted. I'm just wanting to reach out and get info and what a good price on target ammo is? And maybe find out where to buy some at a good price? Reloading will definitely be in my future as well for 9mm and .223 but I still have a lot of research to do on that subject. Anyways what is a good price for brass .223? Where do you guys buy?

Cheapest brass Gunnies has is 10 bucks a box for the PPU stuff. Last I checked a few weeks ago Get Some in Orem had the brown box federal stuff for... 9 bucks I think? Cabelas has herter's for 6 bucks.. but it's steel case.. non-corrosive.. I've been picking some of that up here and there, just to have some. your best bet is probably to find a case online.. maybe factory reloaded stuff.

Do you usually use midway to purchase ammo online? What are your recommendations for websites to buy the ammo? Any with free shipping by chance :D ?

.223 / 5.56 ammo?

Your best price is wolf gold .223. You can get it for .35 cents a round and it's good stuff. PPU at Walmart is also good and just a little more expensive. I did reviews on both check a few threads down.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Wolf Gold brassed cased .223. It has no bi-metals in the bullet so it isn't magnetic, and from all the reviews I've read, it's been 100% reliable and fairly accurate (1.5" groups at 100 yards with 5-10 shot groups). I have never bought Wolf ammo since I don't shoot steel cased ammo out of my guns, but since this is brass cased ammo with so many positive reviews, for that price I think it may be a great option for plinking ammo right now.

I just picked up a case from the-armory.com for $339/1,000 so I'll let you know how it shoots when I get it :D
