I was at the Sugarhouse Park fireworks show, with a couple of friends. As we were leaving the area, we turned down a small alley to get around traffic. Since some other cars had the same idea, we were quickly shut in between two cars, a brick wall, and a building. After a couple minutes of waiting, one of the kids from the car in front of us began yelling at the people behind us. He proceeded to get out of the car, and yell some more, while keeping his left hand in his pants (the whole lowridin' the pants thing hadn't caught on yet, so I don't think he was holding them up
). Meanwhile, we were cowering in the van, hoping that we wouldn't get caught in a crossfire
The second event was while I was in a foreign country. Someone began breaking into the house that we were staying at and, like idiots, two of us came from different directions, screaming our heads off
, in hopes of spooking the spook. Our crazy plan worked, and we lived (somehow).
One more time, on the South side of Atlanta, my wife and I stopped for a restroom break...not a good idea (wrong neighborHOOD, wrong time of NIGHT, wrong color of WHITE skin-get the idea?). Upon assessing the situation, that and the strange man ogling my car, we departed at a high rate of speed.
Having shared these experiences, I am going to add that since I have sworn an oath to defend the constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic
, and as I enjoy weaponry in its many forms (esp. firearms
), I decided long ago that I wouldn't be an easy victim.
