I am sure it'll be dead reliable and dang sturdy, since that is the ruger way. Ruger semi-auto triggers tend to be a little 'squishy' if you know what I mean. It's not like a sudden 'break' like most guns. It's "squish, squish, squiiiiiiiiBOOM!"

Is that clear as mud.

And 8 lbs...blech. I might have a good gunsmith loosen that up a bit.

I have a KT P-32 and while I enjoy it, it doesn't look very good, it looks cheap. This Ruger looks very nice and .380 is an OK caliber. I would buy one and I plan to.

I've got the P-3AT. They are known for needing service more than normal.

Slide lock vs none, better extractor design and stronger springs evidenced by the 8lb vs 5lb trigger pull.

What service issues have you had with your KT? I haven't had any real problems with my PF-9, which is a similar design, though I did purchase the PF-9 after the feed ramp issues had been resolved. The steel of the PF-9 barrel does seem to be a little more prone to corrosion, so it needs more attention to cleaning and oiling when perspisation exposure is an issue.

I've never even considered a 380 but this might just change my mind. I love trigger descriptions, adding "squishy" to my vocabulary.LOL

Walking take-down pin, FTE, FTF, etc. I had to send it in for service.

Buddy's PF9 0 issues
Moms P11 0 issues thousands of rounds.

My P32 well heres the letter to KT

Warranty Department,
To whom it may concern, P32 serial number ##### has the following defect: FTF with Winchester white box, Sellier & Bellot, and Fiocchi ammunition. Repeated primer strikes often result in repeated FTF. The depth of the indention seems adequate but, off center. It is my speculation that if the firing pin made contact closer to the center of the primer the FTF problem would be cured. All of the Kel-Tecs I have seen with the new trigger system will trip the hammer if the trigger reset is “short stroked” at what would appear (tactically and audibly) to be the reset point. Should the gun fire at this point or must the trigger be allowed to travel fully forward? If the extent of the repair means replacement of the gun, slide, and or barrel please contact me. I would like to at my own expense upgrade to a hard chrome finish.

Thank you,

If you trip the trigger "short stroke" tap rack bang or in my case click! 50 bucks or so to send a 250 gun in for repair and wait 6-8 weeks for repair!!! Forget that I'll pay 330.00 for a gun more likly to be right the first time.

I like rugers .22s the revolvers are great. I have read stories of 6+ moa deer rifles sent in and, sent back with a note its in spec 6in is adaquite for this type of rifle! Mini 14= minute of tent stake. Its strange that the father of the mini 14 is among the most accurate semi auto battle rifles of all time! That said now that Bills dead (may he burn in) and the company is selling hi caps to the public I might give ruger another look.

PS
Felt the trigger on that SR9? take up feels like a screen door with an over stretched spring, then it reminds me of an M9 that had sand all over it and in the mainspring well. Kind of like rice crispies Snap, Crackle, Bang. I mean a sigma trigger feels good by comparison.

I know what you mean. That's what I meant on another thread when I said Rugers have a "squishy" trigger. Sort of like, "squish....squish....squiiiiiiiiishhhhBANG!

No, thats just the wet sponge trigger and thats bad enough. This trigger that I felt had the added dimensions of stacking and grittiness. I have felt better triggers on $3.00 capguns

The slide lock is manual, it doesn't hold the slide open after the last round is fired. Not much of an improvement there.

$330 is MSRP I think it will go for under $300. Here's a video review for you DSL and Broadband users.

As an owner of two 1st Generation P3AT's that go bang everytime, the 9.4 oz does not compare to the 7.4 oz of my AT's.
That said, if I didn't own reliable Kel-Tecs, I'd be looking at the Rugers. I'd still wait for reviews from real people with real experince. Alot of people are assuming these will work perfectly right out of the box, but remember that Ruger isn't exactly known for small or smallish autoloaders.

For better or worse, I picked one up last Tuesday for $290 down in Orem, Impact has them listed for $270. The quality looks real good. I have not shot it yet, I'm a bit busy so I wouldn't be able to get out till next week. It does fit in the front pocket of my jeans with room to spare. I can only get two fingers on the grips but it feels real good in the hand. I'll give a range report next week. It will be a carry all the time gun winter or Summer.
