And do any of the Gun stores have the servers, bandwidth and know-how to run an effective classified system? Sure something else could pop-up but how long until it does, how well does the word get out, and how well is it designed.
KSL's classifieds are well known in Utah and the inter-mountain region in general, to the point that craigslist has never been nearly as big of a market here in the state as it is most everywhere else. Everybody knows about KSL classifieds, it's a great place to go to buy or sell just about anything you need. When I want to buy something used I think of KSL, not some random item specific site.
KSL has built a very effective online marketplace. If they choose to kick out gun sales, that it their choice, but it would be a sad day, and really impact the used firearm market. Sure someone else could create a replacement site, but how well would it be known, how well would it be designed, how secure would it be, KSL's site isn't overrun by non-related ads, would the competing site be the same? For that matter UCC has it's own sales area, but how many firearms are traded here versus KSL by our own members.
