I have been following this story, at least on this forum for a while now. The officers comments about seeing open carry groups and their seemingly inattentive demeanor with their children present is so much bunk. How does he/she even know this is true? Is this how they are when they are carrying a weapon too? Seriously, regardless of what is being carried, or how it is being carried, or if children (heaven forbid!) are present, have no bearing what so ever on any person, or groups mind set or ability to discern what is or is not going on around them. Every time I carry concealed or open I am very aware of my surroundings and will act according to this awareness regardless of how I may appear to some officer or citizen who may be nearby.
I am in complete agreement with the posts I have seen. These officers (anonymous) do seem like cowards with their responses. They do not appear to have the desire to protect anyone, but do appear to want to thwart any attempt to act legally by carrying a weapon because they deem it inappropriate. We have an inherent right to self defense regardless of our activities, or our engagements of the day. We have a right to defend ourselves from egregious government, whom by the way can and does often include police who are not honorable in their profession, unlike the Promise Keepers who do honor to their profession and respect our rights.
The comments from the officers (anonymous) are disturbing to say the least. I would not want them near me or approaching me. There is little else which can be as egregious as an officer who will enforce opinions under color of law because they do not like what you may be legally doing. These officers are a threat to the safety of us all and we have a right and a responsibility to oust them, to encourage their office to eliminate them from the payroll as they are a threat to those they have sworn an oath to protect, regardless of what SCOTUS has said.
The article was disturbing to say the least and further emphasizes our need to be ever vigilant against intrusions by officers who have little respect or regard for those whom they serve.
What part of "Shall not be infringed" is not being abused today!
Even Knights had "Modern" weapons!
