Hmm, there have been a number of civilian defensive use of weapons lately.
And once again, it proves out that doing so reduces the chances of the victims being injured or killed.

MIDVALE -- One man has been arrested and police are looking for another man involved in an attempted jewelry store robbery.
Miguel Lopez Hernandez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery after he and another man attempted to rob Kelly Jewelers at 7045 S. State Street, around 6 p.m. on Friday.
According to Unified Police, Hernandez walked into the store and was joined a few minutes later by another man. The second man pulled out a small silver handgun and told the manager to get on the floor. The second man threw a roll of duct tape to Hernandez.
Before either could act, however, the manager pulled his own handgun on the men. Upon seeing the gun, the armed man ran out the door, and Hernandez was left unarmed in the store.
Police are searching for the armed man, who is described as a Hispanic man with short buzzed hair, a mustache and of thin build. He weighs about 145 to 160 pounds and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt at the time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Unified Police, (801) 250-1474.
