What do you carry?
Tell us about the open carry. Why do you like it? What problems have you had?
Glad to have you here.

I carry a Glock 23 (.40 S&W) I have had my CFP for 3 years, and I used to coneal a .380 before I realized I had the right to open carry. Concealing a large pistol was always uncomfortable for me, so I sold the little .380 and bought the Glock and started carrying openly in February of this year. I carry on my hip in a Blackhawk Sepra, and sometimes on my thigh. I have not had any problems carrying openly, mainly just uneducated people that say "Oh, you can't do that!" or "Are you a cop?" Even Norm VanWagenen thinks I can't OC a loaded pistol. He'll come around one day!
Any problems with people calling cops about your open carry? Do you open carry at work?

Welcome. I've open carried once in public at a Sizzler restaurant. It was great. Nobody ever said a word or gave me any problems.

But that was just once.

I'm thinking about doing it more often myself.
To my knowledge, nobody has called the cops on me. I have never been approached by a LEO while carrying. I have been seen by cops before. UTOC-45-44 and I open carried at the Ron Paul rally last month, two SLC cops saw us both and didn't say anything. I even asked an Orem cop about OC while I was carrying and he said if he saw me on the street, he would stop and talk to me to ensure I wasn't some whack job with a gun. I work as a Customer Service (warranty) Rep for a home builder, so carrying at work is a No-No for me. I OC every where else though.
Welcome to another Santiquin resident. :)

I used to hang-out at VanWagenen's quite a bit when they were in Provo. Old man VanWagenen was a great guy. We spent a lot of time talking guns & I bought several of my first ones from him.

Now that Norms in charge, I don't go there much because his personality in general just tends to grate on me.

Well SGT Jensen, good to see you, old buddy.

Is your wife going to goin this site too?

I was hoping she would post a picture as I will not get to your get-together so that I can see the postol packing mama in person.

Welcome to the forum.

I flew into SLC last week, on business, and whle I was there I OC'd in the Macaroni Grill, and not a problem. I was wearing a Shoulder Holster with my full sized 1911 on one side and 2 extra mags on the other.

No one could miss it, but no one said anything.

Glade you found us here.

Not sure when I will fly into Salt Lake again. When I flew in last week I was only there long enough to eat, meet and leave, and as for my spelling, well you will find that there is no spell check on this site and as an old dyslexic I have a hard time spelling even simple words.

ODD... misspelled words are underlined in red for me. Maybe something on my computer? It doesn't that on OCDO.

When I first started to post here I would cut and past from a word document, but after a time, I decided I had better things to do.

Oh for your smart computer.

It's because you're using the Firefox web browser. It's HIGHLY recommended and beyond the spell checking, has tons of other cool features. Get it at http://getfirefox.com/

Darn.

I am required to use the web browser installed by my company on their computer. I am not allowed to install my own programs.

Well it is their computer.

Welcome to our forum! Glad to have you join us.

I've OC'd in Utah and Cache Counties many times without incident. I've never been hassled and was asked only once if I was a police officer.

Oh I guess that is ok, but I really wanted to see a picture of the gun. 8)

My self and two other of my instructors OC'd in Park City once at a resturaunt. It was GREAT, some of the looks that one guy gave us were priceless, but no one said anything to us. We were there in our 5.11 shirts and pants with our Logo on it (A great one I must say)....lol
