Drew Mouton, a Utah man who attended Highland High, who lived in New Orleans with his family has a harrowing story of survival in New Orleans after Katrina.

The Salt Lake Tribune: A survivor's story: How one New Orleans family endured Katrina's aftermath

This story shows how preparedness and a determination to defend one's self and family is necessary.

This helps clarify to everyone why the efforts of New Orleans police to disarm all citizens is especially reprehensible. At the very time that self-defense is most needed, the anti-gun zealots on the Left want all citizens to be defenseless.

(EDIT - I misread the article. He went to Highland High School in SLC. He did not live in Highland, Utah)
