I love my Galco ankle holster. No, it's not the fastest draw when out and about but at work I am desk bound and for that it is awesome.
This morning my bosses computer wouldn't turn on. Gee, can I crawl under her desk and see what the problem is? That would certainly expose my ankle... I was able to drop to one knee and keep my hoslter behind me. Luckily the cleaning crew had bumped the button on the power strip so it only took a few seconds to diagnose and fix. But there for a second I was wondering what was going to happen when I crawled under there and she got a good look at my ankle. :ack: I work in an anti-gun environment and didn't want to have the conversation. Whew. Dodged a bullet there.

Nice. I also work in such an environment...one where I would be fired on the spot for an infraction. :(
Sadly +1 :sadstory:

And later, at the end of a meeting, two gals asked me to pop their backs. If I had been wearing my Smart Carry I might of had some explaining to do. I have been carrying for 9 months with no incidents. All of sudden today I am almost found out. Jeesh!

What kind of place are you working at?
I am lucky, my boss has already approved for me to carry at work when my permit finally gets around to getting here.

I've hugged and lifted people, and popped my wife's back, while SmartCarrying my XD9SC, and never been made (not that I'd have cared if my wife noticed, but she didn't). Just make sure the holster is positioned low.

What are you guys carrying?

I don't know if I work in an anti-gun environment or not, but I'm not about to find out - especially not the hard way.

I wear slacks and a button-up long sleeve shirt every day.

I carry a Kahr MK9. I just got a Don Hume hip-pocket holster for it, which makes it look like a rectangle in my pocket instead of a gun. When I walk, I try to keep my hand in my pocket on it, both to call less attention to the fact that there's something in my pocket, and to stabilize it a bit.

When I get to my desk, I discreetly place the gun/holster and my keys (so I can't leave without it) in a drawer in my desk. I usually don't carry it on me when I'm at work, and being able to easily place it on/off my person allows me to do that.

I've been checking out some of the "tuckable" holsters which look pretty cool, and might be an option.

Thanks for the tip swillden. I typically wear low but it goods to know ahead of time.

mchlwise, I carry a PM9 with no problems in both my Ankle Glove on blue jean days and my Smart Carry on Slacks days. The Smart Carry would work fine with jeans if I didn't sit a desk all day. My jeans are not skin tight, but still not as roomy as slacks.
