Another Lurker joins
I have been following this and other forums for a few months now trying to educate myself on the rules and regulations of carrying for personal defense. I found this site shortly after reading an article (online and don’t ask where ‘cause I don’t remember) about the open carry movement.
I have made application for my CFP which I expect sometime between the end of summer and Christmas if what I have read about BCI delays are true… just kidding about the Christmas part ..strike that :type: ..I actually I think it will be like Christmas the day it arrives in my mailbox.
I currently am employed by a local municipality, but not as a police officer, although my position allows me to interact with them frequently. For the most part they seem very aware of the carry issues and are encouraged to see the public taking up arms. I also haven’t seen any negatives about them here, though it is unlikely that anyone would due to the “industrial†nature of the town.
To start things off on a good note, I wanted to thank everyone for the free education. There are a lot of great resources here to glean information from. Now, hopefully, I can add something to the discussion….. :shades:

Glad you are snooping around..... ......If you came here looking for friendly people....that is what you will probably find.....If you want to find some old sore heads. you will probably find some of them too, but if you do....just ignore them....thats what I do.

Snoopy has been my hero from when I was a little kid (too many years ago to even believe I was ever a kid), even named my childhood dog (a schnauzer) snoopy. I am drawn to the idea that snoopy is a dreamer of many different persona's...a dog, WW 1 Flying Ace, Joe Cool, etc. There is nothing he can't do, what a great attitude to have. Besides... no body else had taken it yet so I grabbed it as MINE!!!! :shades:
on a down side, I don't think I have ever seen a picture of snoopy with a firearm in his hand. There may be one maybe of WW1 Ace in a field or something, but I haven't been able to find it recently.....oh well, until I find it, or summer ends, baseball will have to do.
