Just picked up a sweet 1911 Colt Officer's Model. It is nickle plated and has a few places on the slide with mars. Does anyone know of a way to refinish a nickle plated gun without stripping it to bare metal?
I'm really open to suggestions. I guess the easiest would be to blast it and make a matte surface. That would be acceptable. As a last resort blast the affected surfaces and have someone apply one of the new baking enamels.
Did what I should have done in the first place. Pulled a grip off and did a little surgery on the frame where it would never show. Pistol is really stainless!!! Now I know how to clean it up...
