Anybody shoot blackpowder?

I just got a free CVA in line muzzleloader the magnum with the 209 ignition system with a synthetic camo stock and nickel barrel. It is a .45 caliber which is the smallest muzzleloader i have shot but it should be great for squirrels and maybe a mule deer. I would trade it for a good .357 if anybody is interested. :D

I shot my first buck 2 years ago with a CVA Buckhorn Magnum in .50 caliber. Shot it with Thompson/Center Shockwaves and 100 grains of Triple Se7en. Great, great stuff.

I put in for the Southern Muzzleloader buck tag again this year, along with a bunch of buddies. Crossing my fingers!

And since I already own a CVA and and .357, can't say I'd be interested in a trade. Sorry...
You guys and your fancy pancey in-line, composite stocks, sabots.... Sell them all and get a real mans gun. 54 Hawken or 50 Pennsylvania mountain rifle with set triggers and open sites. Three ban Enfield, or give me something with a greenriver barrel and a flint lock. If you show up at any of the monthly black powder shoots with those new fangled guns they would laugh you out of camp. A big part of black powder is the history.
I guess I'm a bit old school when it comes to black powder...

Now, now, scally, I also have a T/C Hawken caplock rifle that I could use, I just prefer the Buckhorn for the hunts. Gotta keep that Hawken nice and shiny for the grandkids when I pass it down to them! :sheriff:
You fancy pancy gunpowder guys should hunt like a real man and do it with a stick and a string, or a spear or club  :grinningjester:
You fancy pancy stick and string people should use rocks, large rocks. Try hitting a deer from 20 feet with a 30 pound rock! Anyone seen Braveheart?
One word: Flintlock.

My .50 Cal, 39" barrel flinter has killed more deer than my .270.

Ok I have to admit that anyone who shoots black powder is a good guy, no matter what gun they shoot. Because as we all know "There is nothing like the smell of black powder in the morning." from that old favorite "Apocalypse awhile ago".

Actually, I think it goes like this:

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning...the smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory."
