I think I have seen something like this at the Gun Show. Perhaps there will be a booth at the upcoming show on April 19th & 20th.

These guys started their own, I think out of a group much like ours. We could talk to them and see how we can start our own program. It could be marketed through gun shops and CFP classes and we could retain lawyers such as Mr. Vilos.

My memory is a little shaky on this but I think there was an insert in Mitch Vilos' Utah Gun Law II for a somewhat similar type of thing that would provide a degree of legal expertise for defense in legal situations arising from a defensive shooting incident. I note that the third edition doesn't have such an insert.

Curt Oda and Mitch Vilos did organize the Concealed Weapon Permit Holders Association (CWPA) some years ago, but for whatever reason, it did not continue. It is now a defunct organization.

I did see Curt Oda manning the CWPA table at gun shows, and even joined. It's too bad that they weren't able to continue it, because I thought that it was a great idea.

I would be interested in something like this. I have always wanted to do pre paid legal but haven't looked into it enough to know if they would cover a self deffence situation. It would be nice to have it for stuff that wasn't gun related.

I had looked at that in the first place, but haven't looked at the particulars to see exactly what it covers and how it handles legal fees.

I, for one, would like to see monies stay local to work with local attorneys. I will have to see if I can get info on how that plan works.
