Does anybody know where I can take the NRA basic pistol class in the near future?

I took it at Range Masters in Springville in about 2003/2004.
I'd bet that they still offer it.

The BSA does NRA training, but you have to take the basic instructor class first ($15-20) and then you can do the pistol, rifle or shotgun course ($70 each).

Both. I want to become a certified instructor, but I'd like to take the class as a student first.

If you are just wanting to attend the class as a student the agerage costs are between $40-$80 depending on who you go with. The cost that was listed above must be for an instructors class.

For reference, we charge $125 for the pistol class and $200 for the instructor class, including the trainers course.

If you have the handgun skills, you don't need to attend the basic classs you can go straight to the instructor class if the training counselor reviews your skills and thinks you have the appropriate level of proficiency.

Hey, the Utah National Parks Council offers the class. I'm taking them on the following days:

Thursday, August 14
NRA Basic Instructor Course ($20)
5-11pm (6 hrs)
Boy Scouts of America â€" Utah National Parks Council Office

Friday, August 22 â€" Saturday, August 23
NRA Pistol Instructor Course ($90)
Fri., 5-11pm (6 hrs) & Sat., 9am-3pm (6 hrs â€" Range time 2-3 hrs)
Boy Scouts of America â€" Utah National Parks Council Office

If you can't attend those days let me know and I'll get more dates for you OR since you are close you can goto the BSA office and pick up a full schedule. The guy that teaches the class, his name is Woody, and says he is doing this for the Boy Scouts. That is why it is so cheap. To be fair and honest might want to sign up as a BSA Merit Badge Counselor afterwards. I'm going to go back at take the NRA Shotgun and Rifle Instructor courses to be a fair for getting it as such as great deal. Hope that helped.

We usually teach it a few times a year. I teach in California so I am not sure it is an alternative for most on this forum but I wanted to provide prices for reference.
