Bersa Thunder 380 problem

911 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  xmirage2kx
I have a Bersa Thunder 380 and it is a joy to shoot as long as the ammo is FMJ or even just lead. As soon as I load up some JHP, it consistently jams. In careful inspection, I found the problem. I have a small groove in the bullet-feed ramp. The ramp is in two sections, the bottom half is part of the frame while the top half is part of the barrel. Any suggestions on how to handle this problem? Would and could a gunsmith be able to easily fix it? The barrel doesn't tilt back like some other pistols.

I had a similar problem with my Ruger P89. There was a little nick above the feed ramp where JHP's got caught. I wouldn't mess around with it. A good gunsmith ought to be able to buff that out in no time.
