Did anyone else besides me notice H.B. 354, the Bus Passenger Safety Act Amendments, http://le.utah.gov/~2007/bills/hbillenr/hb0354.htm , which became effective April 30? UTAH CODE ANN. 76-10-1504(4)(a) http://le.utah.gov/~code/TITLE76/htm/76_0C183.htm makes it illegal for a person to board a bus with a firearm "upon his person." Concealed carry permit holders are exempt. UTAH CODE ANN. 76-10-1507 used to prohibit carrying a firearm on a bus or in a bus terminal, with no exception for concealed carry permit holders, but now, thanks to H.B. 354, that has changed. Yep. That was one of the good bills to pass and get signed.
I had a chance to chat with Clark Aposhian about what went on in this legislative session at a recent USSC meeting. This is one of the bills he talked about. It cleared up a gray area.
