Did anyone else besides me notice H.B. 354, the Bus Passenger Safety Act Amendments, http://le.utah.gov/~2007/bills/hbillenr/hb0354.htm , which became effective April 30? UTAH CODE ANN. 76-10-1504(4)(a) http://le.utah.gov/~code/TITLE76/htm/76_0C183.htm makes it illegal for a person to board a bus with a firearm "upon his person." Concealed carry permit holders are exempt. UTAH CODE ANN. 76-10-1507 used to prohibit carrying a firearm on a bus or in a bus terminal, with no exception for concealed carry permit holders, but now, thanks to H.B. 354, that has changed. Concealed carry permit holders are now exempt. See the new UTAH CODE ANN. 76-10-1507(2)(b): http://le.utah.gov/~code/TITLE76/htm/76_0C186.htm
We owe Representative Walker and Senator Waddoups a big thank you for clearing up the discrepancy, and of course all those who voted in favor of the amendments.
