the sooner the better
I just hope it will actually happen.
I have a trip planned to Yellowstone this summer and this would be wonderful if it really happens in time for me.
Hmmmm. Here is what KSL wrote:

"The U.S. Department of the Interior agreed to rewrite its regulations, making the possession of firearms legal in national parks."

I wonder if they really have agreed to rewrite OR if KSL just miswrote about the feds agreeing to review the policy as we know they said a few weeks ago that they would do. I would be curious to know....
Well KSL is wrong 90%+ of the time. Usually they are SO wrong the story is opposite of what they report. In their benefit they do have a good classified section. On my way to it I will occasionally read a story just to refresh my knowledge of how dumb most people are.
The letter from Secretary of the Interior Kempthorne would tend to support KSL's choice of words:
I have directed...to develop and propose...regulations that will update firearms policies...

To me, this sounds much stronger than "review".

I'm also disenchanted with my KSL news feed because it is so shallow (they miss sooo many details in stories). I tried the rest of the news feeds in Utah and can't find much deeper. Any ideas on better local news feeds?
It seams to me that the 2nd alows us to carry where we want...why do we even have that thing anyhow......whats it called again...?....oh yeah..the Constitution....duh...we are so ******.
anyone else have any additional info on this?

The way I read it, it could go either way. While mister Kempthorne seems to acknowledge the individuals right under the second ammendment, he refers to Federal laws such as those regarding weaons in Federal buildings. The letter itself if fairly neutral, but if HB473 has taught us anything, we should be nervous when any law regarding our second ammendment rights is being addressed.
Don't hope for it too much. If you read his memo it says they will also take into consideration of the Federal rules on guns in Federal buildings...which they aren't allowed. Also made reference to the safety of citizens in the parks....which is basically why they said in the 1st place they wouldn't allow guns.
