A little while ago I got some new wood grips from cheaperthandirt.com for 20 bucks + shipping. Great deal. The grips have diamond checkering, and it gives a great new look. Check out the pics. I now may need to change my avatar. :lol2:

Man they look great, better than those ugly black plastic grips. I changed mine with a burled cocobolo. Yes use it as your avatar, I use my pt1911 as mine.

Those look great, Crackshot! I am a big fan of wood grips, and those Cocobolo double diamonds are a great addition to your gun. Not to mention the price was right.

One of my favorite wood grip makers is the lovely Esmeralda. I have a couple sets from her, and her work is second to none. Check out her stuff: http://www.esmeralda.cc

Enjoy~

Thanks for the replies... I checked out Esmeralda's site. She's hot, and her grips are sweet....

Does anyone know if I can get some grip screws that have a slightly smaller head? I think I saw some advertised awhile back, but I am not certain. If they're available, they will seat a little deeper in the grips. I guess I could always look around at Lowe's, etc. :dunno:

Rdoggsilva, I envy the ss 1911. There's not much prettier than a ss pt1911 with sweet grips (don't tell my wife that).

Do not worry it will be our little secret. I fill the same. Give Brownells a try. They also have a catalog just for 1911 and it is free.

The grips look great, especially on your patinad 1911.

While PERHAPS both are true... I would only add that should you place an order, I recommend you do so by phone, as she often answers it. :raisedbrow: :raisedbrow: :raisedbrow:
