I'd like to get into coyote hunting. I've shot several over the years as I've encountered them, but I've seen a few around lately and would like to make it more of a hobby. I've heard about the coyote bounty in Utah, but can't seem to find anything definitive on how much it is, what counties offer it, where you go to get it, what you have to present (ears?), etc. And are there any places in Cache Valley that pay for hides?

Also, any recommendations on places to go?

Call the Tooele county clerk. When i investigated this in 2001, Old info, They gave me a list of inspectors you took the dog to an inspector and he gave you a certificate to take to the clerk for your bounty. You also had to be a Tooele county Resident.

Calls Al's. They pay the bounty. You simply turn in the ears. Talk to the guns department and they will have the specifics for you.
As far as where, I don't know though.

Pw,

I dont know a great place to go to shoot coyotes but any canyon up logan may have some coyotes in it and i have heard the sinks area is a good place to go. Also over by trenton i have seen coyotes out there or in the fields above richmond there should be some. There is a coyote farm by millville canyon where i know the fences have been cut be eco freaks in the past and a bunch of coyotes got out and there are quite a few up on the face and around that area. If you go up logan or blacksmith watch out for mountain lion cause you can call them in also. If you need someone to go with you let me know and i'll try out my ak 47 on a dog. :fudd:

I checked at Al's in Logan and they pay the $20 bounty. You just deliver the ears, sign a form, and they give the money. They said over 500 bounties have been paid this year!!! No wonder I haven't seen too many coyotes lately!
