Delta Center Carry Experiences?

I understand that the Delta Center may have some signs about no carry there and I understand there is no statutory requirement that I have to obey them. I did not carry to an event there recently b/c I didn't know what the door screening process was like and their website did not help--I don't like hassle or attention. The door screening was light visual inspection of bags only. No metal detector. I think my wife could have had one in her purse undetected and certainly I could have had several without a problem. Anybody with a negative Delta experience? thanks.

I seem to recall metal detectors when I went to an event about a year and a half ago (before I got my CFP).

I don't know if this is standard practice.

I think you do have to "obey". It may not be criminal, but they can sure keep you from going in, and can even kick you out. And, You might be out the cost of the ticket.. lol

No, it's not against the law in Utah.

However, as it is private property, if you refuse to leave if asked to do so, you are then trespassing.

Actually, the Delta Center accepted state funds from the restaraunt tax. This makes the Delta Center a public place. I have carried there. When asked if I was carrying I said I was carrying legally & that they were violating the law. They agreed with me & had a head of security escort me to the security room where they had me leave my weapon in a locked drawer. I didn't care to do this, however, the security person promised that they were going to be "protecting me". I allowed this as I can not afford tickets often, and as I was traveling by Trax. The jist of things is: The Delta Center is not private, but public property, and it IS legal to carry there. Just be advised that you will probably be wanded or asked if you are carrying any weapons before entering that facility.
