I have just recently moved into district #2. I don't really know anything about Jim Matheson or his voting record on gun rights. Is anyone aware of any votes or statements he has made in the past regarding the 2nd amendment and related issues? Is there a website I can go to that would have that info. I know Bill Dew is the republican running against him. I have visited his website and there is no mention of gun rights. Any information about either of these two candidates or anyone else running for the 2nd district would be greatly appreciated.

The NRA gives him a C rating. But I also thing he has done right by us. As a Republican in the 2nd District I have voted for him in the past. But his vote for the Real-ID may change that this year.

I can't, but if I could vote against Matheson, I would. I don't like him and he has hurt conservative causes more than he has helped.

When it comes to gun rights....I think he is OK.....but you folks could do better.

I would consider moving to vote for TJ.

It matters very little what Matheson's personal views on guns are. Congressional business is hugely based on which party has the majority. I think in his case, party affiliation trumps his personal views. Let's put it this way: a vote for him is a vote for keeping Pelosi in power. And Pelosi couldn't care less about what Matheson thinks. By the way, Matheson has a B+ rating from NRA--not too bad for a Democrat.
