I am looking for some firearm training/safety instruction for the 16-18 year old young men of my LDS ward.

Requirements are thus:

1. Something that would last no longer than 1.5 hours on a Wednesday...likley late afternoon/early evening.
2. CHEAP.
3. NRA or Utah State certified instruction.
4. No travel outside the SL Valley, unless it is to the uninhabited, 'shootable' portions west of Utah Lake.

Shoot me a PM or email if you are willing or able. Thanks!

I'm not so sure about shooting on the west side of Utah lake. One of my dad's friends drove out there to go shooting. Unawares to him, there was a sheriff patrolling the area. The sheriff watched and waited. As soon as the guy got his guns out of the trunk, the sheriff pulled up and issued a citation (no warning, just a ticket). I'm not sure when this was, perhaps during the summer when the fire related prohibition was in effect, but it would be smart to make sure shooting is still legal out there - I would like to know for personal reasons. I have been shooting out in Toole (yes, it's pronounced Too-lee  ), but I have some family down in Utah county that I would like to take shooting outdoors.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Tapehoser, if you would like anyone else to go with you, I am always up for some extra shooting!

Hunter Safety is one thing and yes, they do offer that course at the LeeKay shooting range and online.

However, I want a class geared specifically toward the safe and proper handling of firearms with a bit of shooting and practical application. Simple as that.

Tell ya what, I'll do the class for you in exchange for the $10 fine to be removed...LOL. My company we actually offer FREE firearms training for non-proffit groups such as SCOUTS, 4H, FFA, Big Brother and Big Sisters etc. Get with me and we can do it.

I'd be willing to donate my time to the cause if needed. :)

What sort of range/facilities do you have?
