I just joined the forum today.
I've been carrying concealed for about 1 month now.
I carry an XD .40 compact, though i own a few other guns.
i own the following:
-Springfield XD .40
-Beretta 92 FS
-Buckmark .22
-SKS
-Winchester .44 mag lever action rifle
-Remington 12 gauge

the next guns i want to get:
AR15
XD .45
XD subcompact or maybe a beretta tomcat.

i have been lurking on this forum for the past month or so and want to thank you guys for all of your posts and the informative discussion that has helped me already.
Also thanks to the moderators and the owner of the site for providing this forum.
my name (lockout) is a reference to my favorite halo2 map.

Welcome to the board, lockout. Are you a Utah resident?
yep i live in farmington.
Welcome! Looks like we both have good taste in guns!
Hope you enjoy it here.

Now I'll have to remember not to to let Tapehoser near my guns since he thinks they have "good taste". I'd be cleaning drool out of my new PSL for hours.
Welcome to the forum! We're very glad to have you here.

That's a nice collection! How about some photos?

There's an idea. We ought to start a gun-collection photo thread so people can show off their babies in one place...
Welcome

Sounds like you have some nice guns.

I don't know much about Halo, but my son does play a lot of WoW.

Nice to have you here.

Welcome to the Forum! Have you all ready decided on what AR-15 you are going to get?

i was thinking of getting the colt. i have a friend that has 3 and is thinking of selling his "low end" one (which is the colt).

any suggestions?
Colt's are a good option especially if you can get one at a good price. Right now Colt's are sort of hard to come by, at elast for a reasonable price. As far as other makes, it just depends how much you want to spend, what type of options you want, and what you are going to use it for.
Run your AR-15 WET. Use oil and lube on. The gun can run wet and dirty, but not dry and dirty. Also use quality ammo, some of the cheap stuff has been known to blow up and damage the guns.

sounds like you are the AR man. thanks for the advise on running it wet, i will share that with my friends (who i'm trying to get to join this forum).

if i purchase the colt do you know if any limitations i will have?

no photos, my wife takes care of all the picture taking in the family. she used to hate guns and wouldn't even touch one. now i've got her considering a concealed carry class and she said she will shoot my buckmark .22.

My wife took a little while to warm up to the idea too. One thing that really helped her change her outlook on guns and self-defense was when I bought a copy of Armed and Female by Paxton Quigley and had her read it. That really gave her a paradigm shift. She packs now.
I've been carrying for just over a year now...and except for the first month after i got my permit (i was shopping for my carry weapon), there have probably been fewer than 5 times that i have left the house "without".
my posts are few and far between, i aprreciate this website and all of the input i read from everybody else! :D

:welcome:
Everybody please note that this introduction thread was started just over a year ago, so just realize that lockout is not a new forum member needing to be welcomed as a new member.

I'm glad you're enjoying the forum, lockout. Please continue to do so and feel free to post even more often.

I'll just lock this old intro thread so people don't get confused. Please feel free to continue posting in the Chit Chat forum to continue on this topic.
