There is a place near Liberty, UT called the Weber Wildlife Federation. The cost is $10 per year which I find very reasonable. You can get memberships at Sportsmans Warehouse and Kents in Ogden. If you buy your ticket at the range it is $15.

It is setup for long range shooting out to 300 meters but you can setup targets as close as you want for pistol shooting. No shotguns are allowed. Be sure to bring your own target stands, cardboard box, or something sturdy to place your target on. There used to be a metal gong at 300 meters but some ignorant person shot the chains off. :bang:

GPS coordinates: +41° 22' 15.60", -111° 52' 11.20" (you can copy and paste into google maps)

If you follow the road that the range is on and go past the range, it turns into what I assume is BLM. I have seen people shooting up there and that area is free.

Here are some pictures:

There are some ranges listed on http://www.placestoshoot.org but most of them are clubs that require payment.

It usually isn't staffed. The road getting to the range is a maintained gravel road that is about a 1/4 mile long from the paved road.
