My permit arrived in the mail! I can now join your ranks officially!

Arrived exactly 7 weeks to the day I applied - much faster than the 100 days they told me. Actually took 49 calendar days. Pretty good IMO.

I'm pleased with this delivery... 8)

Congratulations! A little longer than than two weeks it took for me to get mine, eight years ago, but pretty quick for now-a-days.
May you always carry and have it with you and never need to use it. :)

Congratulations. 7 weeks. That's pretty quick. I got mine in 10 weeks a few years ago, and at the time that was considered fast.

Thanks, all.

I have been carrying non-stop since it arrived. My wife asked when I was going to start carrying now that I have my permit. She was surprised to find out I already was. She simply didn't notice. I'll take that as a compliment.

After a few years of disagreeing about the subject, she now admits that she is glad I decided to do this. Who knows, with a little education and time with my little .22 Ruger, she may decide to move in the same direction.

Great news.

Last night I had to run the wife to Valley Fair Mall and decided to carry again. We talked all the way there about why I carry and why I feel like I need to protect myself. She no longer works there, but used to work in that exact mall for 8 years. She said she never felt un-safe. I asked her to look at the type of people that frequent that particular mall, and compare it to the type of people that go to SouthTowne. She agreed then that the people at Valley Fair were "a bit more on the shady side."

Right as we pulled into the parking lot, there were 4 or 5 cars outside the JC Penny side with their lights going off, and 3 guys in cuffs. I looked at her and said that's why I carry. Of course she said, "They weren't even in the mall." To which I replied, "YET." LOL

The only thing that helped my case out more was that we had to drive around to the other side of the mall and we noticed 3 other police cars (not mall security) parked at various entrances.
