Guns internationally

I usually fly to other countries several times a year. For example, I'll be going to Slovenia and India this summer. It's when I'm in some of the countries I go to that I feel the most need for protection.

Does anyone have information on taking a gun (esp. a handgun) to another country? I have searched the Internet and found little information. I would assume it is country by country, but most countries don't seem to publish much. Anyone have any resources or ideas?

I know it has to be possible to do because many people take their rifles hunting to other countries. Granted, that's not concealed carry of a handgun. :shades:

Any ideas?

I would suggest the embassy or consulate of the country you are going to visit as one of the best sources for this sort of information. I also suggest written information as opposed to verbal; in my experience, verbal information isn't worth the paper it's written on.
Going to Costa Rica in May and I wouldnt mind one bit if I could carry. Now im curious....

I was there in November. No can carry. Handguns are basically illegal in Costa Rica.

BTW, Costa Rica is a beautiful country! You're gonna love it.
