So far, we're losing!

How would you characterize the gun dealer's visit to Virginia Tech?
It was inappropriate 63%
It was appropriate 37%

What's your take on allowing concealed weapons on college campuses?
I'm against it 59%
I support it 41%
Let's hit this hard!!!

By the way, notice this quote from the article:
A school spokesman denounced the visit in a statement Wednesday, saying it was "terribly offensive" that Thompson would set foot on campus.
I find it terribly offensive that school officials successfully campaigned last year in the Virginia legislature to defeat a preemption bill that would have allowed self-defense on campuses. Their policies obviously don't work, and in fact contributed to a body count of 32 dead.
I tried to post a comment on the article, but couldn't. So I'll "preach to the choir" here.

These same people who call his visit "inappropriate" and "insensitive" would probably welcome with open arms the parents of the killer, as well they should. They were victims of the horrible tragedy, just as were every American who gasped when we saw it on CNN. But these people think the law-abiding businessman, who made a legal transaction as part of his legal business, is somehow to blame for the events of that terrible day. That's like blaming the person who sold the 9/11 hijackers their tickets. If they are looking for someone to blame, all they have to do is visit the cemetery, and look for Seung-Hui Cho. It was his fault. Nobody and nothing else, not even the guy who sold him the gun, can be blamed for killing 32 innocent people that day.

Rant complete. Thank you.

Virginia Tech has had two school shootings since the inception of their no-guns policies. The first one was the fall before Cho killed 32. I can't remember the details, but there were only a couple of people killed. Seems like their no-gun policies work. :disgusted:
Its sad people think gun free zones work.
