Hi, my name is Shane and I just joined. I post on a few other forums but I am glad I found this one, it's always nice to talk with others from the same area.

I am 40 yrs old, married and have two kids. We live near Brigham City but I work in SLC. The next 3 or 4 years the company I work for will be doing a lot of work in WVC, and some of it will be in some pretty shaddy neighborhoods, so I took this as a good excuse to get my CFP. It's something I have wanted to do for years now but just never got around to it. I took the class and sent the paper work in about a month and a half ago so I am hoping my permit will be here shortly.

I have a few handguns but most are to big for good concealment so I picked up a new Sig P250 for my main carry and have put about 2500 rounds through it without a single problem. I wasn't sure how I was gonna like the DA trigger but the more I use it the more I like it .... It's a sweeeet gun. I also plan on using my Walther PPK or my P22 as a BUG.

Well I hope to become an active member and look forward to participating in the discussions. However I must warn ya, I am terrible at writing ( it has taken me about an hour to write this  .. lol). About the only writing I do lately is observation reports so my replies will probably be short and to the point, but I will do my best.

Glad you found us! Yes, personal protection is important and good for you for realizing what you needed IN ADVANCE! So many people wait and wait until they need something, they forget to prepare. I hope your time in WVC is uneventful, but if not, at least we know that you will be ready.

As per the writing, I echo the others, just do what you can, don't sweat it - we'd rather you type something, than nothing :)

Stick around, make yourself at home and let us know if we can help in any way!

Welcome aboard!

Glad to hear the P250 is running good for you. I have a P226 and P220 but have not had a chance to try a P250. I will have to check one out. 8)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone ... I appreciate it.

I have been having a hard time finding a good IWB for my Sig. I'm a fairly large guy, not real fat, just sporting some nice love-handles  I have tried a straight holster (no cant) between 2:00 and 3:30 and it printed to much, so I tried one with a FBI cant, between 10 and 15 degree, and it looked and felt a lot better. If I force it to tilt forward even more it was real comfy and a lot easier for me to draw. So today I stopped at Tandy Leather in Roy and picked up some leather supplies and tonight I took a stab at making my own holster with a 20 degree cant. It's the first time I have ever worked with leather, well except in the boy scouts over 30 years ago, but I have done some reading about it and so far its looking pretty good. I will post pics when I get it done.

Welcome. I look forward to pics of your project. One of our members, James who lives in cache valley, has made his own holsters. Good Luck.
