My name is Jeff, I have been thinking of getting a CCW permit and thought this would be a good place to ask some questions.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

I found the site by doing a Google search for Utah concealed carry because I wasn't sure about the restrictions and the actual process. My problem is I have a misdemeanor assault charge from an altercation several years back and after reading the government website I figured I didn't stand a chance at getting a permit.

I hoped someone had some real life experience in that situation and, could point me in the right direction if there is a possibility that a permit can still be obtained.
