I've been a lurker for a while. :new:
I carry a 9mm Springfield XD SubCompact.
I like the outdoors, hiking, snowshoeing, rollerblading, blogging, cooking and baking :eat: etc etc....
About a year ago, I attended a dinner with a group of girlfriends. We were at the Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square happily eating dinner when the topic the "incident" came up. It was only a few months after the shooting at Trolley Square. The topic of concealed carry was soon brought up and in defence of CC I mentioned that I had my permit. Of course one friend asked "do you have a gun on you right now?" I shyly admitted that I did (I normally don't really like everyone to know that I'm "packin'"). A few women were a little uncomfortable with this. However, most of the women said they felt safer knowing that I had a gun.
This was a time that I realized my role and how important it was that I keep on carrying. By doing so, I'm taking responsiblity for those around me. I also realized how important it is to educate others on the facts (and not myths) surrounding concealed carry and sometimes even open carry. Being a woman in the circles that I run, I feel it's extra important that I keep my facts straight, my knowledge solid and my current events up-to-date. Thus bringing me to utahconcealedcarry.com
Thank You for welcoming me and I look forward to all you have to say!
