Scary. :shock:

Reminds me to remember two things:

1) Always be prepared, even in your own home;

and

2) If you're caught unprepared, the best defense is cooperation. Let them take whatever they want, let them be rude, let them just about whatever... but don't provoke or confront them if you're unarmed and they aren't.

This is why I carry unless I am laying in bed, in the shower, or doing "other" things. Some of my guests are curious when they see I carry even around my house, but most have positive reactions when I explain it.

CC at work, OC most other places, even at home.

"Be Prepared" --even though I dropped out of scouts, I still try to live by the motto!

Just found this local story that happened last night.
And people wonder why I carry in WVC.

They wonder why I have a pistol under the pillow. Wheeler under the mattress. Finally a Shotgun behind the head board :crown:

Too many people let down their guard when they're at home in their house, or out in their neighborhood where "nothing bad happens here." The first time you're unprepared or unarmed could be the last time you wished you had been.

This paragraph caught my eye in particular:
...
It was a terrifying night for Maria Reyes' family when three masked men broke through the back door around 1:30 this morning. The robbers pistol-whipped her mother, assaulted her sister--who is five months pregnant--and shot her brother-in-law in the face.
...
There are some really evil people out there, folks. They will pistol whip a woman and assault a pregnant woman, then shoot the husband, intending to kill him. I really can't fathom that kind of monstrosity in a human being, but it exists.

I always have my protection handy in my own home, and I tell my wife to do the same.
