How to add the NAA finger rest extension to a Kel-Tec P-3AT

Here's a trick for the Kel-Tec P-3AT which helped me a lot with my grip. The North American Arms (NAA) Guardian finger rest extension can be easily adapted for the Kel-Tec P-32 or P-3AT magazines. I've done this with mine and it helps me solidify my grip. Check out the instructions for doing this in the following article:
Adding an NAA Guardian finger rest to a P32

You can purchase the finger extension base plates directly from NAA online.
Look down the page for where it says, "Two Finger Extension Base Plates for all Guardian magazines: $10.00".

I haven't tried this on the Ruger LCP (I don't own one), but I'd be surprised if it didn't work, since the Ruger looks identical to the Kel-Tec.

Yep. It wasn't hard.
Long after I had found that site and followed the directions on my own P-3AT, I actually met the guy who wrote that.
He turned out to be the son of my father's first cousin. Small world...

FYI, that makes him your second cousin. :)
Thanks for clearing that relation thing up... I was trying to do the "family math" in my head :lol2:
May I assume this extension can be added to the KT P32?

If you'll notice, the article is actually about adding the extension to a P32.
It just so happens that the same instructions work on the P-3AT (which I have) and so posted it that way...
Jeff, Thanks for the post on adding the grip extension, I will have to try it on my ruger.

I obviously didn't notice, hence the question. Thanks for the help. :D

I've ordered the grip extention base plate from NAA. When it arrives I will see how it works and post the results.
I ordered the extensions and following the instructions, installed them. I really like how it feels. I haven't shot it yet but I when I do, I will post more.

Now for the bad news. I have two magazines so I ordered two packages. I didn't read the fine print. :bang: There are two per package. :bang2: So now I have four. I can only use two. You will find a new posting in the "For Sale" section of this forum for those extra two. :dunno:

I will make the suggestion that while you have the magazine apart, blow it out with some canned air.

:D Here is an update! The extension that I recieved from NAA went right on, without any modifications needed at all. as you can see from the picture it leaves a little gap, but doesn't seem to be an issue. Much better control and ease gripping the LCP. 8)

That's the first case I know of where this extension was used on the Ruger LCP. Great!
Hey Jeff, Thanks again for the information, what a difference it made. :D
