Glock has a "Glock Sport Shooting Foundation" (GSSF) where you can participate in rather informal shooting competition. It costs $35 to join GSSF, and right now GSSF members can get a certificate to buy a Glock at the same price the police get. I just got my certificate and I think I'll go get a new 19 for less than $400.

See www.gssfonline.com for details. Don't know how long the offer will last.

The issue is by the time you pay the $35, Pay to get it shipped to a FFL, pay Shipping costs, pay taxes, etc you have not saved much (if any) money.

Naw... it is different now. Then send you a certificate and then you trot on over to Barlows Custom Guns in West Valley City (authorized distributor) and get your gun from them.

I haven't gotten mine yet, so I can't swear to all costs associated, but it looks much simpler than before.

If you follow through with this let me know how it goes. If they have made it that simple it might be worth doing.

I called the authorized dealer in Utah (Barlows Custom Guns) but they didn't know the procedure. I then called Glock HQ and spoke with someone that said the guns should be coming out of the inventory the distributors keep for police, and I got the name of the district manager who will be able to educate the local distributor. I called the district manager, but haven't heard back from him yet. I'll post more when I know more.

Thanx,
Dave

Spoke with the Glock District Manager a few minutes ago. Looks like the information packet on the GSSF deal wasn't sent to Barlows Custom Guns, so Glock HQ is sending that out now. I'll wait a week or two and then give Barlows a call. The District Manager (Dan) said Barlows is a great distributor to work with and gave great cudos to Steve.

Barlows does Law Enforcement (LE) sales, which is why they are listed on the GSSF special deal distributor list. The LE Glock package includes three magazines, but the GSSF deal only includes two, so one magazine is removed when they sell it to you. Prices on the Glocks listed on the certificate are in line with what Hunter said.
