I am new to the forum. I have been a shooter since I was about 10 years old, and got my first gun at 12. 30 years ago I was a police officer. I shot on the pistol team, and trained to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. I have had a concealed carry permit for some time, but didn't carry until the Trolley Square tragedy. That was a wake-up call for me. I'm getting old, slow, and weak. I decided it was time to be ready to protect myself and those I love. This past summer I have certified as an NRA instructor for Basic Pistol, and Personal Defense in the Home. I am just a few weeks away from certifying in Personal Defense Outside the Home, the new course introduced by the NRA this January. I also am an instructor for the Utah Concealed Firearms Course and have enjoyed teaching that course.
