Just curious about the .45

I've never had a .45 and I was wondering what GAP, ACP, and AUTO mean. Can anyone explain this to me. Thanks in advance.

I believe that the GAP is for glock .45's and Auto and ACP I believe are the same thing. Someone will surely correct me if i am wrong. I do not know what the differences in GAP and ACP is.
As I recall, the GAP is about 1/10" shorter than the .45ACP and operates at a higher pressure to achieve similar ballistic results.
Yes, the 45 GAP (Glock Automatic Pistol) was a Glock thing. The casing is a bit shorter and the design was intended to make a pistol with a shorter action.

The 45 ACP and 45 Auto are the same thing. ACP means Automatic Colt Pistol.

These two cartridges are not interchangeable. They must be used in a gun with the correct numbers stamped on the gun.
GAP = Glock Automatic Pistol
The .45 GAP is the same diameter as the .45 ACP pistol cartridge, but is shorter than the .45 ACP â€" and even slightly shorter than the overall length of the 9x19mm Parabellum and .40 S&W â€" and uses a small-pistol primer as found in smaller calibers such as the 9 mm Para, instead of the large-pistol primer as found in most commercial loadings of the .45 ACP (a few manufacturers occasionally use small-pistol primers on some of their .45 ACP offerings).
ACP = Automatic Colt Pistol
The .45 ACP (11.43x23mm Automatic Colt Pistol) is a rimless pistol cartridge designed by firearms designer John Browning in 1904, for use in his prototype Colt semi-automatic .45 pistolâ€"a design which evolved into the M1911 pistol adopted by the U.S. Army in 1911.

The .45 ACP would become one of the most successful cartridges of all time, among both military and civilian users. It has been used in innumerable handguns and submachine guns since its introduction.
.45 AUTO = synonymous with .45 ACP

You can get Glocks chambered for .45 GAP or for .45 ACP, amongst others.
Thank you all. :D
ACP is an acronym that stands for "Worlds coolest handgun round"(trust me here). GAP stands for "dont buy one cause the round is almost dead and deserves to be" (Really, it does.....). Glock missed the boat here. America already has a .45, AND IT WORKS! (uh no, I'm not biased here, why do you ask?) 8)
