I like the looks of both sites. Just a suggestion to consider. KSL runs its classified site to increase traffic to their website and thus increase opportunity for advertising revenue.

If someone REALLY wants to stick it to KSL, don't just replace the gun listings. Expand the site to include everything currently listed on KSL. Keep it family friendly and otherwise appeal to the current KLS marketplace. But go after everything.

Start with those items most likely related to guns or of interest to the same people looking for guns: firearms accessories, firearms training, other sporting goods like fishing equipment, hiking and camping equipment, ATVs, boats, etc. Then trucks/SUVs, expanding in to other cars and street bikes, etc, etc, etc.

Just food for thought.

Just a head up - your link to UCC on the right side - the URL is wrong it just directs you to "http://utahconcealedcarry/" missing the .com.

A couple things. I just registered. There is no place to change your password. The one I was given would be incredibly difficult to remember.

Also, you have PayPal for people to pay with for advertising. While I'm sure a lot of people use this, but their policy is not to allow sales of the following:

2. ....snip.... (i) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (j) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law.
While your advertisers may not be advertising firearms, why would you want to be associated with them?

What company would you suggest as an alternative?

Let's politely let KSL know that they are no longer needed. I've co-founded a website that will work even better than before :)

I couldn't have said it better myself :D Utahguns.com has been around for over a year and is really a much better firearms site than KSL ever was except for the traffic. I have been a daily user of the Firearms section on KSL for several years and purchased and sold lots of guns there.

Last time they threatened to close it down I designed Utahguns.com as a classifieds site dedicated to firearms. Here you can list your items by make, model, caliber, type. You can embed video of your gun. The pictures are large and high quality. I tried to make everything about KSL that I didn't like better (on a very limited budget). If you havn't seen it yet it is worth a trip over to http://www.utahguns.com

Works for me, and there are now several listings. I would suggest a listing count so we can see how fast it's growing in use. Obviously you get the metrics but it would be nice for the rest of us to see if it really takes off.

You can set your password to what ever you want, just click, forgot password, it will send a link to your email, redirect you back to the site, and will let you pick a new password.

No one will be purchasing guns via PayPal, they will only pay to have their own ad featured.

We just tweeted that we have had 2,000 unique visitors to the site in the first 12 hours.

47 active users is our peak so far.
