I'm curious... I have noticed that it SEEMS that our OC sister-site is a bit more involved in political activism. Whenever something big comes up, it seems they know about it as well... and are chatting more about it... and I have seen stuff on their site which isn't being discussed here... I wonder if we couldn't help strengthen each other by "unifying" our efforts with regards to legal on-goings in the state???
When I was a kid (pre-internet) there were dial-up Bulletin Board Systems (BBS's)... some of you may have used them as well... back then (for those of you who don't know) if you wanted to visit an internet site (say, UCC.com) you had to know their phone # and tell your computer to hang up the phone and call that site. You could only visit that one site. When you wanted to go visit another site (say, opencarry.org), you had to hang up and call their phone #. A real hassle. But back then one of the kewl things that they did was that some common-related sites would "share" TOPICS with each other... at midnight every day the one site would call the other site and exchange all new threads and posts within a certain TOPIC. It was great b/c if I liked 1 site better than the other I could still read common topics from the other site without dialing that site.
I wonder if something like this can be done today??? It would be great if UCC.com and opencarry.org/utah could share a common "Political Issues In Utah" topic that people from either site could read and post to and it would be automatically reflected in the other site's thread... that way we could consolidate our efforts, condense our information, organize our efforts, and intensify our level of political activism.
So... does anyone know if something like this can be done??? I know there are several software engineers here so I'm wondering if any of them have seen something like this somewhere else???? I think it would be a very worthy endeavor.
