For the novices on the forum like me, is there anything special about the Double Tap ammo?

DT ammo is loaded very hot. While still being within safety levels for the particular casings, you could say that DT ammo is loaded so that it runs "full throttle."

Many people use this ammo for hunting (particularly when taking a deer with a handgun round). I personally think that DT ammo is too much for a self-defense round (follow-up shots, overpenetration, wear on firearm, etc), but to each their own.
