The "Friends of the NRA" is a "Non-Profit" organization dedicated to promoting shooting and gun education in our area.
The friends of NRA dinner will be held on March 29th at UVSC. The Doors open at 5:30PM. Dinner will be a buffet of Prime Rib and Chicken Cordon Blue. Tickets are $30 per person, and $10 of that is tax deductible.
Many merchants and individuals contribute merchandise that will be raffled at this event. One of the raffled items is a Weatherby Orion D'Italia Over/Under 12GA shotgun.
Other donations of product or sponsorship of merchandise is greatly appreciated. There will be raffles, silent bidding, open bidding for this merchandise and prizes.
Half of all of the proceeds generated from this banquet will stay in Utah County. It is used to update shooting areas and for firearm training and education. It is one more way to help us promote gun and shooting rights in this area.

Florida CCW Permit Applications Available â€"
Jeff Tennis, Admin. Asst. for the Counterterrorism Institute of America tells us that they have received a quantity of Florida CCW applications. These would be good for the eastern and southern states that Florida covers and Utah does not. They are FREE.
Jeff also informs us that they are offering an Evasive Driving Course, currently scheduled for September 21st and 22nd, (an additional course may be offered in June).
Whether you are an AT RISK person such as a CEO, JEWELER or CELEBRITY (even if it is only in your own mind) or you just want to be able to out drive all the BAD GUYS, this might be for you. Pure adrenaline rush!
Jeff also supplied the attached brochure dealing with being prepared in case of an act of terrorism.
Anyone who would like to obtain one of the applications or is interested in the Evasive Driving Course, please contact Jeff at 801-815-4193.
From the Folks Up North â€"
There were four items left by individuals who attended last Saturday’s Utah Polite Society event. These were a 1911 magazine, a partial box of .40 S&W ammunition, a magazine loader, and a small pouch containing .45 ammunition. If any of these items belong to you, please contact me so I can get them back to you.
The annual Winter Rock Shoot is scheduled to take place this Saturday, March 8. For those of you who may not have attended a Rock Shoot in the past, this is a rather freeform event where you can shoot just about anything you’d like to bring at just about anything you’d like to bring.
If you’d like to attend, bring your stuff and meet us for breakfast at the Country Pride Restaurant in the Travel Center of America truck stop just off the I-80 Tooele exit at 8:00 a.m. This is an all-day event in an unimproved part of Skull Valley, so bring chairs, tables, guns, ammo, targets, stuff to eat for lunch, stuff to cook lunch on, and whatever else you’d care to drag along.
If you have any specific questions about the Rock Shoot, please e-mail them to me.
