Well, it's official -- my XD9sc finally has a permanent home: ON MY PERSON!!! No more unholstering and reholstering every time I leave and come home... yep, my permit arrived!!!

And with good timing too! I filed my paperwork in person on 22OCT and rec'd my permit this morning... what a surprise!!! That's only 26 actual days of business!!!! Much shorter than the average, and what I was told the day I filed my paperwork... I wasn't planning on getting it until the last week of Dec. or early Jan.

The funny thing is that even their website says they are still working on 12OCT applications. I don't know why mine arrived so early... I'd be interested to hear if we see a similar trend.

Anyways, I'm a happy man today! :)

Great news - congrats...

It seems that BCI is busting it out lately. I received my permit in 7 weeks. Good on them!

I am glad you took it in the spirit it was intended.

Well, the first place I carried was when we went to Office Depot tonight... followed by Red Robin for dinner.

I must say, I am *SOOOOOO* glad that I prepared for this by getting the holster I'd be using ahead of time and carrying around the house every day AS IF my permit had already been in-hand (I've also been packing my gunless holster around town to school, work, etc)... I was so comfortable with carrying tonight that I actually really didn't even think about it the whole night, it just felt like I'd been carrying for years. The only thing I noticed was that it feels a little different sitting in the car, but I know that will go away in a few days.

It's nice... I thought the day would come and I would be nervous for days; but I'm not. I'm comfortable with it concealed on my hip. The true test is to see how I feel the first time I have to interact with LEO, or I'm made, or other similar situations. I'm hoping that's a very long ways down the road so I'll be better prepared for it.

Welcome to the ranks of those who refuse to be victims.
Congrats!
Awesome! Have you made your Walmart nachos run yet?
Congratulations bane 8) I actually called BCI today because I was curious as to why the date on the website hasn't moved. The very friendly woman on the other end of the line told me that they are actually working on applications that were submitted on October 31st. Sweet news for me, as I hand delivered mine on November 2nd. Won't be too long now til I see it I assume.

Oh, good news! I was sorta half-wondering if mine had gotten expedited and I was gonna end up "owing someone a favour"... it's a long and un-related story but my father-in-law had that happen to him about 20 years ago... a local mafioso-type up in Montana had my father contact his attorney for help with a land-dispute... we won and in the end the lawyer charged my father zilch -- said his client had it covered and not to worry about it... needless to say, it's been a long-standing family joke that someday someone is going to come looking for my father! :p
