Reporting as ordered.

I had no idea this forum existed. I was just searching for more information on open carry rules/laws. I wanted to make sure this was true before I attempted it. I've had my CCW permit for a couple of months and just now starting to use it. Its kinda hard to conceal a full size 1911. Will be getting a Kahr PM9 to conceal here pretty soon. I look forward to reading information on this site. From what I have read it looks pretty helpful.

Thanks,

Josh

1. Yep we exist and are growing fast
2. OC anywhere you can CC legally (but some places still have issues, like UofU)
3. Yes, beleive it or not, you can CC or OC in most places
4. congrats on the permit
5. There are options to CC a 1911, smart carry for instance.
6. Kahr is ok, Most would suggest Glock or XD for similar price
7. Ask as many questions as you need
8. Between the lot of us we can answer any question you have and then some.

Kahr is ok? Kahr's rock! How dare you take the name of Kahr in vain?!:D
I've got a Kahr CW9 and it's the perfect carry gun (of course the PM9 is even better).
Welcome to the forum; be sure to check out the UCC events.

Sorry Hamm, No harm intended :D ........
Welcome to the forum, Josh!
Thanks for all the welcome in's.

I liked the subcompact XD9. I tried it out Doug's. The main reason with Kahr is the size. I have read nothing but good reviews with the PM9. Though with the new news of OC'ing, I might be carrying my 1911 more. I can hit some very good groups with it.

So what goes on at these meetings you guys have? I read there was one at the golden corral last month.

Thanks,

Josh
Welcome, Josh. I hear nothing but good about the Kahr line of pistols.

However, I am partial to the XD line of pistols. :p
Go to UCC Events and you can get the low down on last months event. This month we will have Mitch Vilos there (Utahs premier attorney for 2nd Amend. issues and the Author of several excellent books--some of which he will have for sale and signing at the event), trying to get a supportive Senator there and Clark Aposhian--another excellent hero of 2nd Amendment rights here in Utah. So it will be a great opportunity to meet good people, learn something, get fed & maybe purchase an excellent resource book. :D
Welcome to our humble abode. Have fun!

Welcome

I am sending one of my Kahrs in for service its started to have a problem after only about 12-14K rounds. Second trip back early P9 that had to go in for updates. Lucky for me while its gone I have a second Kahr P9 to drop in its place. I obviously think the Kahr is a fine choice.

Only 14 thousand rounds? You sure shoot a lot more than I do.

I have had it around seven years. thats 84 months -25 for "work trips" where I could not take my guns 12,000/69 about 184 rounds per month.... Although it was my only pistol for a few years and I did work at a range with a substantial ammo discount I am beginning to think maybe just maybe my SMG has a higher round count and a little lower round count for the pistol.

But yea I shoot alot. I shot around 6K rounds last year. I think I was trying to make up for the less then 100 rounds the year before, not as many recreational shooting opportunities as you may think :D
Welcome to the group. Hope to hear from you often.
