Hi, I'm new to shooting and I recently purchased my first handgun, an XD40sc. I'm now waiting for my CCW license to show up (it's been five weeks now, so I hope I only have one more week left). I spend most of my time on campus at the U, and I'm glad I will soon be able to exercise my right to carry here.
I'm sure you all understand if I don't get too specific about myself, I work with some European individuals that are rabidly anti-gun, so I prefer to remain somewhat anonymous just in case. But if you have any other questions let me know.

thanks for the warm welcome, I'll look up that thread to check out my waiting time. I also want to send my thanks to Larry Correia for the great concealed weapons class he taught at the Lehi temple(a.k.a.Cabela's). I had been considering getting a handgun and CFP, the fact that he offers the class free for students is what helped me decide to do it.
