I have a Walther P22 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It seems a bit finicky with some brands of ammo (I don't recall which now), but I can shoot a brick of cheap Federal .22 ammo all day long.

I have the 5" bbl as well as the 3.4" bbl ... easily interchangeable.

The 5 inch barrel has fake porting on it. Looks like this:

The 3.4 inch barrel is just like a normal barrel. The same slide is used regardless of the barrel you use. Pretty simple substitution.

It's not actually ported. Why port a .22?
That's a stabilizer on the end for the 5" barrel. It tightens up with those two allen screws that you can see.

So no longer sight radius for the five inch then.
How do they differ in shooting? Any noticeable difference in accuracy?

In the 5" configuration, it certainly has a longer sight radius, since the front sight is on the barrel stabilizer. The front sight can be removed from the main slide when using that configuration.

Compare the location of the front sight between these two configurations:



It's been a while since I've changed the configuration, but it takes no more than two or three minutes to effect the change.
