Hi folks,

Just wanted to take a minute to say Hi, and thanks for having me.

I just barely (yesterday) received my CCP, and have been reading this forum for a few weeks now. It is very comforting to see that we have such a host of knowledgable individuals who are as conserned as me about self and familial defense right here in Utah. I have already learned alot from this forum and look forward to future topics as they arise.

I guess I should have mentioned this earlier, but as my username implies, I am carrying a Springfield Arms XD 45 ACP Compact. I am also looking for a sub compact in a 9mm for deep concealed carry. Not sure which one though.

Welcome to the board - nice to have another member. The Springfield EMP looks like an interesting, slim 9mm sub-compact. But then, I often pocket-carry a .45.

I totally missed your username. Have you found a holster yet? I also carry the XD45c. I use a crossbreed IWB or a C.T.A.C.

Just get onto the site search function and put in 'XD45'. Lots and lots of great options that are VERY reasonable.

I have an Uncle Mike's holster that looks like that but it also has an optional quick thumb release retaining strap. If I recall, it was only $20-25 at Sportsmans. Anyways, just thought it was worth a mention.

I just went to look at it, it's an Uncle Mike's Sidekick Ambidextrous hip holster and comes in a number of different sizes. Check it out online.

I live in the West Jordan area... Near Jordan Landing.

Have you found a holster yet?

Not sure if I'm sold yet, but I purchaced a Don Hume IWB. It's pretty generic, but seems to fit the gun well and has adequate trigger protection. I think I will have to shop around a bit for a better one. You guys seem to have some good suggestions.

By the way, if anyone knows of a good place to shoot close to my area let me know. With the cost of ammunition an extra $8-$10 for the range adds up quickly and I intend on shooting fairly regularly.
