Night Sights for an XD40sc

For my birthday last week, my dad went to the Cabela's and bought me an inexpensive rail mounting laser, but since it won't fit in my supertuck, I have decided to return it and get a set of night sights instead. I'm leaning toward the truglo TFO, and I'm wondering if anybody has used these, and what they think of them.

Also I have heard that the sights can be very difficult to change, so does anybody know where is the best place to take it to get done, or should I try to do it myself? I don't have a vice, or a brass punch, or even a good hammer, so maybe I'll be better off taking it somewhere else.

The TFOs are great. I have only read good things about them and have considered getting some myself (haven't done it yet).

As far as who can do it for you, Joe, down at FBMG could help I am sure. He's a very competent gunsmith:

Joe Chetwood
FBMG Smithy
48 East 13200 South
Draper, UT 84020

That's where I was thinking of going since FBMG is on my way home from Cabela's. I'll do a review of the sights after I get them.
The TFO's are great. You won't regret getting a pair. :shades:
I got the TFOs today, and they look great, but I am not able to get the factory sights out, even with a brass drift and a vice. So I need to have somebody with better tools do it for me. I would also like to minimize the amount of time I have to go without my gun, so I'll call FBMG to see what I can work out.
Any update on the TFOs? This week I went and looked at some M&Ps, and I saw the VTAC model, which looked pretty sweet. I liked the idea of having the tritium and the fiber optics. The problems was that the sights alone are about $230, and the VTAC model M&P is about $200 more - all for the sights and a different finish on the slide which I am not so sure would hold up as well as the black melonite. But anyway, I saw these TFO's for half the price or less, and they seem like a good option. They aren't as tall, either, which is a good thing.

How have they held up? I have head some bad reviews from people who have the fiber optic rods fall out. How well do they glow at night? During the day? If anybody has any experience in this area, how do they compare to other similar sights?

The TFO's are awesome.
I had Truglo Tfo sights installed on my Xdm.40 in January and i absolutely love them.
I had the gunsmith at discount gun and ammo in provo install them. He told me that the factory sights on the xd and xdm's fit extremely tight, and sometimes he has to cut and break them to get them out.
