For now it looks like Saturday Nov 17th @ 6 Pm in Layton. PM Tacomatose and he will have the details. He is kinda in charge of it this time aroundLucky Head Shot said:As long as the event is on a Saturday I will be there. If we could do lunch I would love to get in some range time.
I will have the details set and posted this weekend, but it is looking like the 17th is the day, and I am getting a lot of interested doing a Late Lunch vs Dinner so I will have that all worked out and posted as well. I asked my wife if we could arm our daughter with a cap or squirt gun for the last meet. She did not like the idea, but my daughter did! I think the biggest problem would be kids keeping it in the holster!natehunts said:Absolutetly not! Post a pic if you can so I can show my wife that I'm not alone out there. :lol:xmirage2kx said:my son just hit the 6 week mark.
Any of you think it is tacky for him to have a mini cap gun and a holster to wear around to look like daddy at this age?? The wife seems to think that is going overboard.
I have changed my mind since then! I think it would look cute. But I think my hubby is right about them keeping it in their holster.SGT Jensen said:I asked my wife if we could arm our daughter with a cap or squirt gun for the last meet. Otherwise Grandma and Grandpa are good
I think that this is a very good point to emphasize. I believe that we are on completely safe legal ground doing an open-carry lunch/dinner. HOWEVER, to remain safe, both legally and physically, we should be very careful that all guns stay holstered the entire time. To unholster a gun to show to one another would, I think, incur unacceptable risks in such a setting. Not only does it court unnecessary physical risks, but would also be very bad PR.packingmama said:...

+1 A public get together like this should be no different than meeting with a group of friends or family or eating out alone. Guns stay holstered at all times. Even if there were no legal issues, from a pure safety standpoint this is the only safe practice.Jeff Johnson said:I think that this is a very good point to emphasize. Please. Let's keep all guns holstered 100% of the time during these get-togethers.
If we want to show off our guns, lets do it at a gun range. Then we can let others see and even shoot our guns, which is great fun.
+1, but I don't think she was saying she would have a problem with her husband keeping it in the holster, she was talking about her child carrying a little squirt gun/cap gun just to be cute.Jeff Johnson said:I think that this is a very good point to emphasize. I do realize that. However, it brought to mind the point that I was making in my post.Tacomatose said:+1, but I don't think she was saying she would have a problem with her husband keeping it in the holster, she was talking about her child carrying a little squirt gun/cap gun just to be cute.

And an excellent point it was, no such thing as being too safe!!! Can't wait for the 17th to arrive.Jeff Johnson said:I do realize that.
