I just got the "Freedom Festival Magazine" in the mail today and it looks pretty interest (first year I've been in Provo and seen it). I was wondering if we should do a meet or something during one of the events.

www.freedomfestival.org is the website. Here are some events:

June 29 - Patriotic Service - 7pm - BYU Marriott Center

June 30 - Family Golf and BBQ - 5-9pm - Cascade Golf Center (1313 E. 800 N., Orem)

July 2 - Nite-Life Gold and Dinner - afternoon/evening - Cascade Gold Center (131 E. 800 N., Orem)

July 3-5 - Freedom Days - Arts, Crafts, Food, Entertainment - times vary - West Center Street off University Ave., Provo

July 4 - Grand Parade - 9am - 960 N. University Ave. to 900 E. Center St., Provo

That is just a few. If you want the whole list PM me. They have already have six of 30 events happen (March 4-May 24).

Anyone interested in a possible meet for at least the Grand Parade, would probably include Freedom Days on West Center.

It's because it's at BYU, which is very anti gun. I've carried there before, however, at a BYU game. They don't have metal detectors.

Yeah, I was pretty sure no guns would be allowed at the BYU event, but the rest of these things are outdoors so probably be okay. I can see the headlines now:

"TWELVE ARRESTED FOR OPEN GUN CARRY AT PROVO'S FREEDOM FESTIVAL!

"Provo Police spokesman commented, 'We are looking out for the safety of the public and individuals carrying guns around a highly public area during the festival is disturbing the peace.' When asked about the rights of the twelve arrested to carry openly their firearms in accordance to the Utah Constitution and Criminal Code the spokesman looked dumb-founded and didn't comment."

But I'll probably still go and open carry. Have to exercise my rights and FREEDOMS!!!

The BYU campus is private property, so in some ways, the issue is ambiguous.
It is not illegal for us to carry there, but they can (and almost certainly will) ask us to leave.
If I were to go to the stadium at BYU, I would conceal deeply.

I don't think I'll be attending that one, but it would be nice, right? Probably just the July 4th Festivals.
